Terénní nahrávky jsem pořídil v různých časech a místech na DAT rekordér a malý stereo mikrofon.

Zvuk parního topení syčícího přes noc v bytě na Jane Street, obří stroj na zarážení pylonů (pile driver) na rohu Jane a Washington Street, jenž ráno třásl bytem, jak zarážel robustní sloupy do bažinatého břehu řeky Hudson. Záznam z prohlídky sbírky historických hudebních nástrojů v Metropolitním muzeu umění.
Zvuky zátoky a nábřeží v Red Hooku byly natočeny poblíž přístavu Red Barge na konci ulice Conover Street, atd.

Zvuky jsem pravidelně a trpělivě nahrával během umělecké rezidence Arts Link, které se jsem měl možnost se účastnit v listopadu a prosinci v roce 1997. Cílem stáže byl projekt vytvoření new yorkské verze vlastního hudebního nástroje Orloje snivců ve spolupráci s kamarádem americkým umělcem Michaelem Deliou z materiálů nalezených na ulicích v Red Hooku a na Manhattanu. Nahrávka hudby této verze Orloje je na albu RED HOOK, kde se objevují i některé tyto zvukové úlovky.

I made field recordings at various times in public places using a DAT recorder and a small stereo microphone.

The sound of a steam heater hissing through the night in an apartment on Jane Street, a giant pylon-jamming machine (pile driver) at the corner of Jane and Washington Streets that shook the apartment in the morning as it rammed sturdy poles into the marshy bank of the Hudson River. Footage from a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection of historic musical instruments. Sounds of the bay and waterfront in Red Hook were recorded near the Red Barge dock at the end of Conover Street, etc.

I recorded the sounds regularly and patiently during the Arts Link residency I was able to attend in November and December 1997. The goal of the residency was a project to create a New York version of my own musical instrument Orloj snivců (The Horologe of Dreamers) in collaboration with friend an American artist Michael Delia, using materials found on the streets of Red Hook and Manhattan. A recording of the music of this version of the Orloj snivců is on the album RED HOOK, where some of these sounds appear.
